RECENT INCIDENTS
Transformer
Clayton FD was dispatched to a transformer fire this evening. Power was shut down to the Sub Station and firefighters from Fishers Landing assisted Clayton with the grass fire that started as a result of the transformer fire.
Low Wires
A truck that caught some low hanging wires on the Bald Rock Road in the town of Clayton. The operator of the truck was not injured however, he had to remain inside the vehicle until Niagara Mohawk could turn the power off. Clayton Fire Police kept the road closed for approximately 12 hours while power, phone and cable service was restored.
Odor Strikes Lafargeville Residents
Fort Drum Haz-Mat and Clayton Rescue during the oder investigation following an EMS call that sent five victims from a LaFargeville residence to River Hospital for evaluations.
Structure Fire on Robinson Road
Structure fire on Robinson Road, Fishers Landing. The call came in at 1:45 am and we arrived at approximately 1:55am. The fire was controlled after about an hour with the assisstance of five fire departments. There was also assistance from ten departments with tankers. The Town of Clayton Highway Department moved some of the debris and remainng day. The back half of the barn was saved along with over 100 head of cattle.
Airlift
Victim, who was thrown from a boat during the Antique Boat Race Boat Regatta, is shown being airlifted from Clayton Arena to Syracuse.
Fire Destroys Home
Fire destroyed a house in Lafargeville early Saturday, but no one was injured, according LaFargeville Fire Chief . Volunteers from 10 departments assisted in the effort. The Town of Clayton Highway Department also assisted investigators with removal of debris.
Ice Rescue from the 29th of February
The call for a truck through the ice was received at approximately 5:30pm. Dr. Richard Withington (E.M.S. 1) and firefighter Darrel Hayes responded to the scene with Dr. Withingtons iceboat. Firefighter Hayes transported 4 members of the Clayton Fire Department wearing ice rescue suits towards the main channel of the river where the truck went through the ice. The three victims were picked up and returned to shore where they were treated by T.I.E.R.S. ambulance.
